Romney's perceived strength is that he would run the USA like a business. Businesses get rid of

deadwood (unproductive workers.)

The unproductive in our country are us old people. I am 68. If old people are eliminated - no more social security, pensions, or medicare to be paid. This would eliminate a large part of debt, open jobs for young people, and other "advantages."

By eliminated, I don't mean anything overt would happen to us - just deny medicare, etc. and we will just naturally die out a LOT younger than we do today.

So, for those who want to run the country like a business - be careful of what you wish for - you just might get it.

I can't convince my old, Republican husband of this. Maybe I am wrong - but I don't think so.

It's already starting to happen.

The corporate mentality rules in a big way, and it's
very destructive for everyone but the rich.. and for
them too in the long run.

you do what you need to do."

No, you're not wrong. The new farm bill guts food stamps and all other food programs for millions of poor families and their children. Wealthy farmers will see an increase in aid. Socialism for the rich, nothing for the rest of us.

Our seniors are on the chopping block, they just haven't got to you yet.

It takes care of the social security, medicare/medicaid problems too. Seriously I think your right he has recently said he has no plans to gut or downsize the military budget. That doesn't leave any wiggle room unless your either raise taxes or gut social programs.

"I will not cut the military budget," he told the American Legion, which published excerpts on Thursday from an interview with the presumptive Republican nominee. "I will instead expand our essential weapons programs and our [number of] active-duty personnel. I do these things not so that we have to fight wars, but so that we can prevent wars."

It's anyone who's reached a decent pay scale but can be replaced by cheaper labor.

The entire workforce is disposable at any point in time.

That's what happens when all the power and all the money are concentrated at the top.

Government was once the people's power to balance the scales. Government once negotiated a better life for us. Now it's been bought out by the rich.
