and I was horrified by how many people just sat and took it.

I've been known to use my mean "mom" voice and tell kids to knock it off in public places more than once.

I've also asked a kid who was being bullied to come and sit with me and my kids.

The mom voice and look can be quite powerful. Mom actions are the best.
