I know it's never going to happen.
Hypothetically though, this man is so vain, petty, and downright crazy that I might go along with something I fundamentally and morally object to in order to prevent him from killing us all.

No tax cuts, and let them own President Trump and all that comes with that.

(65,013 posts)Tax cuts will depress the economy. It's a bad idea and we cannot exchange one thing for a very bad thing, no matter how tempting getting rid of "it" might be.

(90,674 posts)They got a big concession out of Trump, and when he came back recently with one of his tweets about how he was going to make a health care "deal" with his Dem pals, Chuck Schumer slapped him down with a single sentence saying that ACA repeal is off the table. Our two leaders hold Congressional Dem votes very tightly and will not yield to the blackmailers.

(6,070 posts)Hypothetically, the deal might look acceptable, but when the actual dealing happened, we'd get screwed.

(7,632 posts)When we take back congress we need to double the taxes on those making more than 2 million a year.
Lift limits on capital gains to infinity. Same with SS. We'd have money for health care and free college then.

(16,254 posts)or just above. They have not been pulling their share of the load for years and it's time to man up.
I'd also go after the money hidden on various islands or small countries which I thought were already identified. Did we ever get any of that money, or was the chase all for show?
Time to get those generous perks off the tax books and let the rich pay their taxes like the rest of us. Don't throw us crumbs to keep us quiet, do what is right.

(10,624 posts)They should impeach, or not impeach, based on the merits of the case that can be brought against him. Personally, I think there is already prima facie evidence of obstruction.

(34,069 posts)and I would answer that question differently.
The question asked was whether we would be willing to trade: impeach trump for permitting taxcuts that will do untold damage to people impacted by the cuts.
The clear and easy answer is, "no." I won't trade one evil for another.
As to a straight question about the tax cuts - that's more of a question of how how the sausage is made. Tax rerorm is not always pretty - but I want Democrats creatively negotiating for the best tax bill we can get. We are not the party of "No."
