Romney will be the (R) Candidate on Election Day

Winning major party candidates are not rejected in surprise convention moves and do not drop out of Presidential elections.

For good or ill, Romney is the nominee.

He would have to be indicted and perp-walked for the party powers to even think about replacing him.

Count on a smoke-filled backroom deal removing Romney from consideration and putting in someone as a sacrifical lamb, and attempt to save the House and failing miserably - Democrats will take the House, and remove every single Republicans from assignment to committees until they pledge to represent the constitutents on matters at hand, and not some corporation scumbag.
