Remember Texass wants to secede from the union. At last there is a faction that is desperate to secede. And many support small government you can drown in a bath tub.

I hope they take a hard look at the numbers and fight against the wall.

They were anti Ukraine years ago, pro Brexit, anti-Hillary, pro Cali secession and now pro-Trump and pro Texas secession. While anti-Islam bigotry and white nationalism remained a theme throughout the years. Kind of amazing, all the bases on person Tweeting memes could cover.

(47,209 posts)That's how bots work- they influence real people.
Same as they did against HRC, they amplify the campaign- making it look like an actual big grass roots thing and that helps increase support locally. Of course some Trump fans will buy it- they bought everything else the Russian bits have been selling. Just like they did with Brexit, etc etc.

(13,033 posts)Long before Putin had any plans, the majority of Republican Party supporters and almost all of their leaders, had walked off the deep end. The Russians amplified what was there to some extent, to what extent we will likely never know, but this is our own home grown nazi problem and pretending it is all the Russian's fault is not helping.

(47,209 posts)I get that there are idiots out there who are easily influenced by FB and Twitter crap- but the sources of it are important. Unfortunately that crap also influences TV as well as print news coverage. To pretend it's not widespread is what's delusional. The crap is on linked In, it's been here at times too. It's insidious, and a great part of it is a planned assault.

(7,522 posts)These sentiments have been around before any bots were pushing this meme. You know how cause and effect work, right? I know why it's tempting for some to blame everything on Russian bots but these types of sentiments have been nurtured in places like Texas for many years and were amped up during the Obama administration. Yes the Russians are trying to attack our democracy, but tht is not what caused these sentiments and there is nothing silly about understanding that.

(47,209 posts)Not that they invented it. That's what they do, try and fuck with the system. And they were MAJOR players in Cal exit on the Russian payroll, and the Brexit one so it's nothing new for them, either.

(7,522 posts)is engrained in the Texas psyche. I was born there and lived there. They don't need bots to fuel the secession feeling - anti federal government, anti POC and anti liberal sentiments - have been around longer than bots.

(12,894 posts)You are painting with a broad brush. There are many progressives in Texas. Unfortunately, Texas has a lot of money in the hands of those who don't care about the little people.
Why always the negative posts?
