My plans are to hunker down and stay home. People evacuate TO SA, so traffic is a problem, too.

circle back on itself and maybe even regain strength before coming back in. This is going to be a very bad deal for a lot of people. I hope everyone is paying attention and stays safe.

Immigration officials will be manning checkpoints during the storm trying to catch undocumented immigrants among the refugees

This is so fucked up I find it hard to believe

Of course it's fucked up - this administration doesn't give a shit about human lives including their own officials.

Trying to blame Al-Queda

This is worse, if immigrants are afraid to evacuate, people will die, including rescue workers

and I think we just have to worry about rain....but nothing about winds or tornadoes.
Of course that could all change if the trajectory changes.

We would have left if it was cat 4 or 5. Generator is ready with lots of fuel. We are boarded up with a lot of local animal shelter dogs in our house (my wife is a veterinarian). We live on a ridge with zero chance of flooding. I built the house with hurricane ties on every rafter ( it survived the eye wall of hurricane Claudette cat 2 in 2004). Our livestock are secure. The horses are secure. The grid-tie solar array is secure. If Trump wants to come down for a photo-op I'll have a few choice words for him! I take that back, I DONT want him down here! Things are about to get interesting.

Harvey is already a cat 3 and it has several hours still to strengthen.

Check back in as soon as you can after the storm so we know how you faired, ok?
