I was in Durham, NC for a couple hours this afternoon at an anti-klan rally. News outlets reported that a kkk group was going to hold a rally/march at the old courthouse where the statue was recently taken down. The crowd size varied but was certainly many hundreds of people chanting, dancing, holding signs ... all peacefully showing that hate groups have no place in their community. Today was our day.

Apparently it morphed into an anti-police, racial injustice rally with people still blocking traffic without a permit. My take is that people should have just gone home and got on with their lives once it was evident once the klan chickened out.

Police in riot gear are moving protestors out of the streets. Nothing bad has happened ... yet.

.. and then retreated back to their hq. Seemed like media types outnumbered protestors at that point, as the crowd had mostly dispersed.

It's now just another hot, sweltering evening in Durham.
