The Hill? @thehill 8m8 minutes agoWATCH: Dem group puts Trump's Charlottesville remarks over video of white supremacist rally http://hill.cm/Whej7OR
A new video from Bridge Project, an arm of the liberal super PAC American Bridge, plays Trump's recent remarks over footage from the rally.
Trump can be heard saying I think theres blame on both sides, as images of torch-bearing white nationalists and neo-Nazi groups flash across the screen.
The 30-second video also shows scenes of a vehicle driving through a crowd of counterdemonstrators. Police have arrested a man with reported ties to racist groups, who they allege drove into the demonstrators. The attack left one woman dead and 19 others injured.
"Excuse me. They didnt put themselves down as neo-Nazis," Trump is heard saying. "And you had some very bad people in that group. But you also had people that were very fine people on both sides."

(58,724 posts)1. More offensive than "both sides" was "very fine people"
That still blows my mind.

(841 posts)2. This will be the primary taking point from Trump on Charlottesville.
I also expect to see conservative media putting out stories about left-wing groups like Antifa, BLM and the so-called "Alt-Left" to take heat off of the fact that Republican rhetoric has been fueling these far-right groups. We should remember that this didn't start with Trump. Let's not forget how right-wingers compared Obama and his wife to apes, held up signs with Obama dressed as an African witch doctor during the health care debate, the birther movement, etc. The Republicans need to own Trump and his most extreme followers.
