(29,781 posts)His voice was shaking because it has affected him so much, and he doesn't do politics. This isn't about politics it's about being human. Thank you Jimmy for saying it so perfectly.

(9,776 posts)maybe people who "don't do politics" are just as responsible for Trump as those who voted for him. It seems Democracy requires we all "do politics."

(63,295 posts)Maybe Fallon will have him on the show again, for another chance to muss up Trump's hair and make him seem more relatable and human once more.

(51,076 posts)He gave a platform for President Obama several times. I trust him to do what is right and this is the right thing for him to do, what he said here.

(26,676 posts)I felt betrayed when he hosted candidate trump who looked like a regular guy, so cute. You entertained with a monster, Jimmy, and probably won him a few votes. Lesson learned.. don't make light of monsters, they're still monsters.

(4,178 posts)Will his humor turn around now?
Will trumpists see all three late night shows mocking trump? Or will Fallon want the ratings from those who won't watch Kimmel or Colbert?
Doug the Dem
(1,297 posts)He didn't even say that Trump has to resign or be impeached. Stephen Colbert has said it several times. I think Kimmel has suggested it once or twice, too.

(53,061 posts)He did more than any other celebrity to try and normalize Trump and is only now making an effort to rehabilitate himself.
He had a powerful tool to hold Trump accountable for his bigotry but chose to go chummy with him.

(333 posts)He normalized a Nazi. We all knew Trump was a Nazi (amid other things) and Fallon STILL tried to make Trump look "cute". And he tried to hide behind "I'm just a comedian".
While this is good indeed, I'll still never watch him again and ai watched him pretty regularly before the Trump debacle.

He helped make that monster look normal.
Screw Fallon.. He was part of the insanity that allowed Trump to get where he is.
