A very scary thought...

Donald Trump is threatening nuclear war in order to stop the Russia investigation?

He is attempting to blackmail the FBI and the US Government into halting all investigations into himself?

He thought Mueller was sending a "strong signal" by raiding his former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort's, home. He was "very, very surprised". What signal did he think Mueller was sending?

The very thought that a president would use the threat of a nuclear attack to stop an investigation would be insanity personified. Is Donald Trump that unstable?

1. Yes, he's that unstable.

I had this very conversation with a friend last night.

I think he's enough of a megalomaniac to deliberately start a war not to distract from the Special Counsel investigation but to actually shield himself from it, arguing that the situation is so dire, he shouldn't be subjected to it. Then comes the effort to shut it down (firing people and grand appeals to "patriotism," which in Trump's case just means: Support him.)

He is much more, and much worse, than simply unstable. He is ignorant, self obsessed, monomaniacal in pursuit of profit which is why he ran in the first place, to enhance his "brand". I believe him to be mentally unstable and have thought from the first that he would resign, or , at best, refuse a second term.
I would hope to see Article 25 invoked frankly, rather than simply allow him to disappear from office. If there is one bright light in all of this, aside from the obvious display of arrogance, ignorance and unfitness he demonstrates daily, it might be the message sent to those 93 million voters who chose to stay home. Democracy is, after all, a participatory sport.

The man will stop at nothing to enhance his own image as a "powerful leader", and to him that means someone who can bomb another country into oblivion. It's sick, but that is how he thinks. He needs to go, the sooner, the better.

5. Trump talked before inauguration about using nukes

It may have been part of a Putin plan to destabilize and create chaos in the US

Trump's nuclear threats now may please Putin and may fit Trump's desire to quash the investigation as well as feed his Jim Jones-style megalomania.

If he decides that the world is no longer safe for him and his immediate family, I think he would not care about safety of the rest of humanity.

I do believe that the rational beings in position of power are aware of his psychological profile and are prepared to intervene.

8. About Trump's use of the word "strong"
Sat Aug 12, 2017, 09:07 AM

He NEVER EVER uses it in a negative sense. Calling the raid "strong" is the same kind of suck-up move that his little friendly "atta-boy" notes to Mueller.
