The US President used the phrase in his January phone conversation about immigration policy with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, which was leaked by the Washington Post overnight.
According to the transcript, Trump, in response to some confusion about Australia's immigration policy (turns out Trump thinks detaining people based on their mode of transport is pretty arbitrary: file that in your one-sleeve folder labelled, "things Donald Trump and GetUp! agree on"
, asserted that he did not think the economic refugees former president Barack Obama had agreed to accept from Australia were the kind of people he wanted in Trump's America.
"I guarantee you they are bad," he said. "That is why they are in prison right now. They are not going to be wonderful people who go on to work for the local milk people."

Local Milk People? What does that even mean? Is he punking us now by making things up? Or is he really a movie producer and he's touting his latest remake - "Rise Of The Planet Of The Local Milk People"? That was our planet!!!! Where are the sequels? Where's "Dawn Of The Planet Of The Local Milk People" or "War For The Planet Of The Local Milk People"? You could do a whole series of these! Call me Netflix!
