I wonder if they're going to let it play out in order to "disqualify" Rmoney and get Jeb in as the anointed one.

Bain is destroying their strategy to keep Obama on defense and portray Romney as some brilliant business man who will create jobs HERE.

(14,549 posts)They demanded a retraction from the Washington Post and didn't get it. They demanded retraction from the Boston Globe which is not happening and they demanded an apology from the Obama campaign. So it seems like this is sticking and they have moved from dismissing and ignoring to trying to kill it but that only keeps it alive for more news cycles.
When both campaigns are talking about the same issue and hitting back and forth it is impossible for the media to ignore it. It is more like media catnip.

(3,747 posts)So I for one am feeling a bit optimistic.
But then in Burma, they become optimistic when a butterfly flaps its wings a certain way.

Will the Dems fight back and mount sufficient challenges?

(34,845 posts)In fact, there are, but they aren't nearly as invincible as we sometimes make them out to be.
Romney and the GOP are floundering, plain and simple.

(9,291 posts)they are just pretending it's not a big deal. Years ago..blah, blah for the low information voters. They are worried because they can't control this, Romney did this all himself. This is what the greed gene does to you.

(27,630 posts)It's like the guy in that Arnold Schwarzenegger film (was it Total Recall?) who was so convincing in his confidence and self-assuredness, except for the little bead of sweat beaded up on his brow.

(19,458 posts)their candidate has a HUGE likability problem, as well as a level of distrust. This stuff is just chipping away at him little by little. They're also expecting their base of a particular type of Christian, to embrace a Mormon, when there has always been distrust there... Add to that his non-personality, and disdain for the little people, and this stuff hurts them.
He'd have to get a movie star for a VP to get any kind of excitement at this point... or maybe someone who had been on DWTS. I think it'll be Paul Ryan... he wants an attack dog (though It hink someone should let the VP choice know what Romney usually does with his dogs.)

(24,689 posts)the RW talk shows were all over it today. Normally they would just dismiss something like this or laugh it off but this one is different.

(30,674 posts)they probably wonder what all the fuss is about.
It's about LYING. Remember when they did that to Clinton for months on end? It's not about sex. It's about THE LYING.
We must do the same to them.
