Problem isnt a few bad apples: The internet recoils in horror as Trump asks cheering cops for brutalityPolice officers cheered as President Donald Trump urged them to use petty violence against suspected criminals and social media users reacted in outrage and horror.
When you see these towns and when you see these thugs being thrown into the back of a paddy wagon, you just see them thrown in, rough, I said, please dont be too nice, Trump told police officers Friday during a speech in Long Island.
Like when you guys put somebody in the car and youre protecting their head, you know, the way you put their hand over, like, dont hit their head and theyve just killed somebody dont hit their head, he added. I said, you can take the hand away, okay?
Twitter users werent sure whether to be more appalled by the president or the police officers who roared in approval.

(12,693 posts)Honorable, decent, upstanding criminals should not be forced to associate with such lowlife scum. Being incarcerated with Trump or any of his henchmen would be an egregious human rights violation.

Doesn't this a**hole know ANYTHING? Or care about anything? Well I guess that question answers itself.

(59,504 posts)He cheered on people attacking anyone against him. In many places the videa looked terrifying. I have never seen a candidate for any office cheer on violence.
Beyond inciting violence, his strange idea that he can get the police to act against citizens is pathetic - even when it is far less outrageous than his comments today. Even when it seemed like he wanted to make it a joke - like when he demanded police, who ignored him, take the coats of protestors as they were thrown out in the winter, this is absolutely inappropriate.

(1,148 posts)And he's smart enough to know that. He's deliberately pandering to them. I've said this before - a lot of Trump's supporters probably have anger management issues and a history of violence and abuse.

(31,261 posts)law is the only thing that protects them. They would get completely outgunned otherwise.

(12,693 posts)And we see clear validation of what we've always known.
So fuck the police--they hate us, and shouldn't be the least bit surprised when the violence they advocate is returned.
Cops are bunch of fucking ignorant brutes who deserve about the same level of respect as a cockroach.

(31,261 posts)When people watch video of them rabidly cheering Trump, who can trust them? Thugs that will do life anyway or get the needle will start deciding to take their chances in shootouts rather than give up. Conduct like the cops showed builds hatred. If they think they can outgun the public, they are fucking wrong. The only thing that keeps them alive is people, regardless of the community basically obeys the law, take that away and you get lots of dead cops.

(101,364 posts)I damn well hope so. There should be mainstream commentators pointing out he's suggesting police brutality, and wanting to change the law to allow it.
