Admendments will be made and one that I am pretty sure will get enough votes will be to keep the Medicaid expansion. All Dems will vote for that along with enough Repubs. This would make the bill toxic for most House Republicans and thats assuming the final Senate version gets passed by that body.

You should worry.

They will destroy healthcare in this country.
Then they will pass a massive tax cut for the Rich.
Don't expect otherwise.

(10,053 posts)Its been grip & grin since Trumpy took office.
I get my hopes up for awhile, then some bizarre thing happens that pulls the rug out from under us. Yet, I keep my fingers crossed....

(35,069 posts)Let's not worry, Trump won't get the nomination.
Let's not worry, Trump won't get in office.
Let's not worry, Trump will drop the crazy act once he gets in office.
I like the optimism, but we need to start looking at contingency plans.

(12,650 posts)That's my motto in life. Why my stepdaughter has me identified as "StressBall" in her phone.
I'm never surprised that most people are motivated by their own interests and emotions, and will not consider larger consequences when indulging their personal wants or proclivities.
Most Trumpeteers in the US would happily cheer the casual disappearance or disenfranchisement of 200 million people in this country, without understanding that their necks are also on the chopping block, and they're next when they become inconvenient or unprofitable. Or maybe, they won't care, so long as they drag everyone else down with them.

(15,220 posts)I fall into that demographic. Yes, there will be amendments, etc., but those of us in the 54-64 age category who are not eligible for Medicaid, etc. are still going to be the ones who get screwed the most.

(13,390 posts)And, I'm worried about the possibility of a full repeal. But, I'm trying to maintain hope and keep in mind that this government is nothing like any of us have seen. There are plenty of unforeseen possibilities and surprises that could transpire. Even if it moves forward, there is no certainty of what happens next. We could be surprised. The sky is not falling (yet?) Doomsday predictions are not going to change the outcomes. But, advocacy may.
