indefinitely until either he's voted out of office or democrats become the majority in either House?
I get that feeling.

(7,641 posts)He started to hint as much when he was talking about passing a smaller bill with democrats to fix some issues with the aca. As long as the ahca is on his plate, he can't get anything done.

(58,785 posts)seems to be the accumulation and exercise of power and relatively free of idiological passion. Presumably conservative, but beyond that without strong ideology. A way of saying I believe that for him repealing the ACA, or not, is only about him and his power. If he needs it personally he's committed to it, if not no. As the media keep pointing out, "overhauling" the tax code is huge, and thus very important to both him and the huge money interests pulling his strings..
Getting someone into his position usually takes years, though, and someone as extremely competent and connected as him...! My best GUESS (of course )is that the Kochs and those like them will not "primary" McConnell if he doesn't come through with the promised close to a trillion in tax cuts for them this year, and dismantling of the ACA and gutting of Medicaid, huge and infuriating as those failures may be to them. Plus, McConnell's Chinese business power base could object to losing their agent and step in.
