At the end of a crazy news day centered on the release of Donald Trump Jrs emails confirming that he arranged a meeting with a Russian attorney in order to receive dirt on Hillary Clinton from the Russian government, both the Washington Post and New York Times published reports detailing the chaos and anger gripping the White House right now.
While the Times detailed the frustration building between President Donald Trumps and his team of private lawyers hired to handle the Russia matter, the Post had their own juicy tidbit about one plan some folks close to the administration are looking to put into place to fight the damaging reports.
<< A handful of Republican operatives close to the White House are scrambling to Trump Jr.s defense and have begun what could be an extensive campaign to try to discredit some of the journalists who have been reporting on the matter.
Their plan, as one member of the team described it, is to research the reporters previous work, in some cases going back years, and to exploit any mistakes or perceived biases. They intend to demand corrections, trumpet errors on social media and feed them to conservative outlets, such as Fox News. >>

(22,151 posts)They always try to cover up, obfuscate and deflect their wrong-doing. Why don't they just do the right things in the first place? Then they wouldn't have t spend so much time and energy lying their asses off.

Doesn't matter if reporters did something low, stupid or evil - like vote for a republican - none of that absolves the republican Draft-Dodger-in-Chief and his cabal of TREASON.
Are republicans using our Tax Dollars to pay for this bullshit? The way the republicans squander $3 million a pop so their freaking 'billionaire' leader can play with his putter on gourmet golf courses.

(13,468 posts)I guess they will have to discredit Junior too, since he released his own emails.
