Mueller will seek indictments.
Trump will fire Mueller.
Sessions will do nothing.
The GOP Congress will do nothing.
Trump will pardon all - including himself.
Russia, Trump and the GOP will steal the 2018 and 2020 elections.

(25,294 posts)In another post of mine today I asked the question as to why the Repugs always protect Trump, circle the wagons and come to his aid.
With all the damage he's done to the Repug Party - you would have thought they would have abandoned him months ago. On a day to day basis - they don't know what he'll pull next to put another nail in the coffin of the Repug Party.
My only theory is that the Party knows that through voter suppression and Russian interference in future elections - that they have a lock on the power base that they currently enjoy. They know that they can't lose in 2018 and 2020.
Your post seems to bear that out.

Trump Inc. is clearly angling for massive voter suppression and electronic voter fraud with the help of his Russian mob friends.

(25,294 posts)Throughout the whole primary season; the run-up to the election; the transition into the presidency and since then - Trump has been privy to all of the Repug dirty tricks. I'm thinking he told them if they don't protect him - if he goes down - he'll take them down with the intimate knowledge he has of the Repug Party.
And if he doesn't happen to have dirt on them - he'll just make some up to take them down. He's a master at lying and fake news and I'm sure he'd concoct some terrible story as to just how crooked the Repug Party is.
Who will the people believe? hmmmmm.......

(6,324 posts)Muellers position is one that was intentionally given civil service protections. So he can't be fired arbitrarily, only for cause, and there is a long process that would have to be followed to do that.

(41,760 posts)GOP states enacted racist voter suppression laws - they worked in 2016
No repercussions for the GOP
Obama didn't get to choose his nominee for the SCOTUS - McConnell and Trump did.
No repercussions for the GOP
Sessions lied about his contacts with Russia - and he is still AG.
No repercussions
The GOP Congress will use the preordained Kobach Commission conclusion to enact even more virulent anti-voting laws.
It's coming and there is not much we can do to stop it.

(722 posts)Because we've all had more than enough time to galvanize ourselves and The Republic against the long term threat this corruption has raised. It didn't just happened magically when this corrupt egomaniac was handed the Presidency. This issue has been the most important one facing the United States of America for almost 40 years, but until now powerful distractions have been created and manipulated to keep the focus elsewhere.
At some point the corruption has to be shaken off or it will overtake and consume. Which is it going to be? We're about to find out.

(6,324 posts)He can't just arbitrarily do it, he has to show misconduct and prove it.
And it can't be done instantly, it would be a drawn or process.
I don't know if you have ever worked for the Federal Government, but it's very, very hard to fire people with civil service protections. The caught 2 VA employees abusing the system to manipulate vacancies so they could swap jobs in order to abuse a program designed to help transferring VA employees not take a loss on anhoem during the housing crisis in order to get the VA to buy out their homes at pre-crash prices. They still have jobs. They literally pressured subordinates to change jobs so they could take their jobs in order to defraud the VA out of hundreds of thousands of dollars to get out from bad housing buys- and are still employed.
For all practical purposes he can't be fired.

(9,675 posts)If your scenario goes down...and based on what we've been witnessing the past several months, it could well come to fruition in the manner you present...NY AG Schneidermann will probably issue indictments against Trump and his sycophants for multiple RICO violations, money laundering, obstruction of justice, income tax evasion, et al.
Remember. Trump was a felon under investigation for YEARS prior to announcing his candidacy. His campaign violations are only the most recent iteration of his criminal ways.
Make no mistake. Trump will go down, one way or the other.

(42,829 posts)The appointment of the Special Counsel, made by Acting AG Rosenstein, is governed by specific regulations, cited by Rosenstein when he made the appointment. Under those regulations, a special counsel may be disciplined or removed from office only by the personal action of the Attorney General [in this case, the acting attorney general]. Moreover, the regulations state that a special counsel can only be removed for misconduct, dereliction of duty, incapacity, conflict of interest, or for other good cause, including violation of Departmental policies.

Because Mueller can ignore being "fired" by Trump and keep on doing his job. Then what is Trump going to do? Go to court?
this clown gets reelected. Eventually his house of cards will fall and with it his bid for reelection. Then we motivate people to vote in 2018 and 2020 and turn this thing around.
