New Eric Trump Foundation Filings Reveal Dramatic Overhaul Of Board
Dan Alexander , FORBES STAFF
I write about Donald Trump and the people around him.
The Eric Trump Foundation recently overhauled its board of directors, according to documents filed with the state of New York Wednesday, which also confirm that the charity has changed its name to Curetivity. The presidents son Eric is no longer on the board of the organization that he cofounded with two close friends in 2007, nor is his wife Lara or six virtually full-time employees of the Trump Organization.
The newly constituted board harkens back to the early days of the Eric Trump Foundation, when the people overseeing the charity were friends of Eric Trumps, with no apparent ties to his fathers business empire. There are now four or five directorsdifferent filings list different numbers, and representatives of the charity did not respond to questions about discrepancydown from 17 in 2015, the most recent year for which public documents were previously available.
The new leaders all retain close connections to Eric Trump. Paige Scardigli, who had served as executive director of the Eric Trump Foundation, is keeping the same position at Curetivity. Andrew Graves and Andrew Joblon, the two old friends who founded the Eric Trump Foundation with the presidents son, remain on the board of the newly renamed charity. The other two listed board members are Thomas Sparico and Shaun Cain, who both previously served as directors of the Eric Trump Foundation.
We dont really know who is pulling the strings, said Marcus Owens, a former IRS official who ran the nonprofit division of the agency for 10 years. Its hard to tell at this point from the outside looking in, to know whether theyve cured the problems or they have just sort of pulled a nice fig leaf over them.

this reorganization will not protect the previous directors. I suspect that their lives will be badly scarred.
