...but that seems to me a totally specious argument. Fact is, whoever Democrats might choose to replace her will soon become just as vilified, thanks to Republican propaganda machines like Faux.

I mean, they managed to do the same thing to Harry Reid -- a "pro-life" moderate Mormon. Even if congressional Democrats were able to get a member of the Tea Party Republicans to jump parties and take over, without changing a single one of his policies, he'd soon be painted as "dangerously liberal."
