On the contrary, I'm ready to kick some Trumplican ass, knock some doors and win back state government, the House and Senate in 2018. FIRED UP AND READY TO GO!! | |

(8,692 posts)The people who sent Ossoff $25 million dollars better be willing to open their checkbooks for Doug Applegate who nearly beat Issa and whatever corpse we prop up in a chair to run against Dana Rohrabacher.
There are a lot of Republicans in California who could be sent to Rancho Mirage with well funded and competitive candidates.

(7,418 posts)Sure like to see how the math works out for vote per dollar spent. How many truly competitive House and State Rep races could have benefited from a fraction of that $25 mil?
I'm all for a 50 state strategy and having a presence in every race but that has to be tempered by reality, too. The way to victory in GA-6th is through state rep/senate races in more competitive districts in order to win enough seats to undo the gerrymandering.

(2,396 posts)But my disappointment always wears off in a couple days.
Maybe there should be a Only Temporarily option.

(1,884 posts)For the creulity of the GOP when it comes to health care. I cannot believe they are pulling this.
Sorry for the topic switch...

(7,178 posts)What I take from yesterday's election results is that Republicans are struggling under Trump and Democrats are energized!

(224 posts)Besides all Handel bought herself is potentially one year in congress, her seat is up again in 2018. She spent all that money to retain a seat by a four point margin that was already a GOP seat before Price joined Team Orange. If Rethugs understood irony, they would be swimming in it right now.

(2,795 posts)It was just another confirmation that the loyal, brain dead, lock step republicans are reliable to follow orders to get out and vote. There were probably many who didn't vote the first go around. But with the time in between first election and the runoff election, the orders were given and dripping with paranoia and socialist doom - so more made sure they voted.
I hoped, but expected nothing different than Ossaff losing.

(958 posts)Ossoff almost won it in the first election. We were told in the runoff there would only be two candidates, and Ossoff would have the advantage. We were told the poll numbers favored Ossoff. We were assured by the experts in the media this would be the turning point for the 2018 mid terms.
By election day the polls were even-up, the experts called it a toss-up, and now we are being told to 'get over it'.
I feel like I have had a month of emotion stolen from me.

(10,659 posts)I know it's a Republican district. I'm very familiar with it.
But this one, along with the one in Montana, shows that the country will have to really suffer before there will be any meaningful change in the electorate.
