dangerously close (the DCCC emailed asking for $ today)

I gave to them twice last month. I'm still upset over the Blue Dog controversy. Thoughts on giving again?

Steven --

Democrats just had their best fundraising month since 2008. And yet it was still far off the $106 million that Mitt Romney and the Republican Party raised.

I donít think I have to tell you how dangerously close we are to this thing being out of reach.

If we want to beat them, then we need you to donate whatever you can to close the gap.

Please give $3 or more to beat Mitt Romney and his radical Republican agenda >>

Thank you,

Kelly

1. When I got that call I answered that I would contribute to the DCCC when they backed Progressives

and not blue dawgs.

2. Anti-Eric Holder Democrats Receive Major Financial Aid From DCCC

WASHINGTON -- The 17 House Democrats who voted to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in criminal contempt last week have received more than $1.3 million in financial aid from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee since the start of 2009, a review of campaign finance records shows. That total constitutes roughly one out of every nine dollars that the committee either spent or earmarked for candidates during that time period.

I wouldn't waste your money.

3. Blue dogs are better than Republicans.

We elect a coalition of blue dogs and progressives, we get Nancy Pelosi as the Speaker. We elect only Progressives, we get Boehner as the speaker for the next ten years.

4. Forget the blue dog controversy. For one thing, some, maybe all, of those "blue dogs"

on a list being circulated by some Democrats (who I suspect may not be Democrats at all) are definitely not the enemy. That list is based entirely on their vote over Holder, which was a bullshit vote and meant only to forestall some attacks in the coming election..

One of them I know about-- Kathy Hochul is the first Democrat to hold her seat in 40 years in a very conservative district. She squeaked in last time and has a good overall voting record. She's up against whoever wins the Republican primary where two baggers are trying to outrightwing each other and after redistricting her district just got redder. Why on earth would any of us want to make her re-election harder?

Assuming most of the "blue dogs" being complained about are at least as good as she is, and I know some are, we need every one of them in Congress. Not only do we get a bunch of votes our way, the majority elects the Speaker and controls committee assignments.

The alternative is Boehner keeping his job as Speaker and if the worst thing possible happens-- Romney will have a Republican House to work with.

I have no doubt that the DCCC should be supported, even though there are those around here who think it more important to punish blue dogs (even imaginary ones) than keep the teabaggers out of Congress.

6. Me too! And Senator Gillibrand mentions Hochul in some of her...

begging letters, too.

I tell ya, the hate is out this year. My own rep, Tim Bishop (NY1), won a squeaker after a recount last year, and the Pubbies have him on the hit list along with Hochul.
