I think there's a reason for this, which is basically not having any governing principles beyond "me first and fuck you." When the winds of fortune are blowing against Democrats, Republicans are gleeful and never betray a scintilla of concern that the winds might shift someday. When those winds inevitably shift, they're too caught up in how unfair life is for the wealthy and the powerful to notice that their prior gloating has come back to bite them in the sit-upon.
We're just doing a service, really, for the likes of Sarah Sanders, by reminding them of the pleasure they took at another's misfortune.
