Trump boasts about his philanthropy.
In the fall of 1996, a charity called the Association to Benefit Children held a ribbon-cutting in Manhattan for a new nursery school serving children with AIDS. The bold-faced names took seats up front.
There was then-Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani (R) and former mayor David Dinkins (D). TV stars Frank and Kathie Lee Gifford, who were major donors. And there was a seat saved for Steven Fisher, a developer who had given generously to build the nursery.
Then, all of a sudden, there was Donald Trump.

(367 posts)I did see articles, but I also sought information. I just wish it was more aggressively reported then. But I see in the press briefings how journalists don't back each other up yet I figured when a story wasn't seen well enough another media would assert the points in their way. I'm seeing that's not how it works.
I guess I'm feeling right now that the press didn't do an aggressive enough job then. And I'm being judgemental that way. It's always easier to see something in gins sight, doesn't take a genius. I'm certainly frustrated. And I see I'm not the only one.
Thanks!

(367 posts)...on stage says everything many of the country thought.
I certainly don't blame the press; they do bear a responsibility of dropping the ball. Yes, the pace of news is faster, but these were things that were widely known and easily verified therefore been pressed forward by all.
Thinking no one will win so no need to invest time and efforts will be a big take away lesson in this.
Hard to believe he's been in office less than 5 months with so much destruction occured.
I hope this is being widely & accurately recorded for future history.

the Post, Farenhold in particular, gave us chapter and verse about this man's mendacity and greed.
