http://gizmodo.com/president-trump-deletes-every-old-press-release-but-th-1795042808Yesterday, journalists discovered that the Trump regime had deleted the presidents infamous press release from 2015 that called for a ban on all Muslims traveling to the United States. But it wasnt just the Muslim ban. Every single press release from before January 1, 2017 has been erased from donaldjtrump.com. Thankfully, the internet never forgets.
As Russ Kick from the website Memory Hole notes, every Trump/Pence 2016 campaign press release that was deleted this week has been backed up by the Internet Archives Wayback Machine. Its almost impossible to completely erase something from the internet these daysfor better and for worse.
...
For instance, you can still read Trumps original December 7, 2015 press release that starts with the unambiguous call to ban all Muslims from entering the US:
...
"When we win on November 8th, and elect a Republican Congress, we will be able to immediately repeal and replace Obamacare. I will ask Congress to convene a special session."
...
Theres also Donald J. Trumps New Deal For Black America, which includes his 10-point plan for urban renewal. Number three would be especially interesting for anyone whos paid attention to the track record of Trumps Attorney General Jeff Sessions:
3. Equal Justice Under the Law. We will apply the law fairly, equally and without prejudice. There will be only one set of rules not a two-tiered system of justice. Equal justice also means the same rules for Wall Street.
...
And how about Trumps April 5, 2016 press release with his repeated promise to get Mexico to pay for a wall at the US-Mexico border?
...
And dont forget Trumps October 18, 2016 press release promising to propose a Constitutional Amendment to set up term limits on members of Congress. We havent heard about that one in quite a while.

(9,426 posts)He can not do that, or the gop will abandon him. All the old goats like McCain, McConnel, Graham and a host of others would be horrified if they lost their do nothing, get paid plenty jobs. McConnell's wife got a position in the administration, then refused to allow a SC vote. Will Cindy McCain get the job they are talking about for her, to keep little lumpy Johnny onboard? Follow the $$$ and the appointments to get to the truth. Can anyone remind me when Ivanka tRump was elected to office? Seems she is in on everything. Is she there to keep daddy placated, or what?
SeattleVet
(5,479 posts)you can bet your ass that anyone who was in office when it went into effect would be grandfathered in and exempt from the new restrictions. It's the way that they always do these things.

(4,787 posts)at the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals. One of the justices asked if the document was still available. The plaintiffs' attorney said it was still online, likely because he didn't know that it had been, or was about to be deleted by Trump.
I think the deletions across the board likely related to the above.
BTW, the Muslim Ban release has been captured by the Internet Archive nearly 750 times since 12/2016. They have a feature which allows a user to simply request that they archive the document again at any point in time. (They keep all archived copies.) It was archived 5 times yesterday; it was on the third capture that the information was revealed to having been blanked out.

(37,648 posts)They were "press" releases. The press has them, as a starting place. Then add to that hundreds of other internet sites and newspapers and other media.
Trump is learning that he can't escape from his past.
Of course, he'll use the lack of his official release to claim, "That's fake news! I didn't say that!"

Trump can't delete his old pages from there, since he doesn't own it.

(22,651 posts)The press asked Obama White House many, many questions about the Republican party candidates crazy wall claims and Republicans Muslim ban 'ideas'.
100s of press questions about the Russian hackings of DNC, 72 hour deportation of 55? Russian buddies of Republicans and other email account hackings are all documented in permanent government archived records.
Mr. Trump should really read the last couple months of DAILY pressers our past Admin. had.
Mr. Trump should really study from the entire old White House website, the current Republican controlled WH website is so obviously full of bullshit lies and cons.
