Stothert and Mello's million-dollar mayoral race has put Omaha in the spotlight

As Mayor Jean Stothert and challenger Heath Mello make their final pitches to voters, a few things are sure: The 2017 Omaha mayoral race has been competitive, divisive and expensive.
Both candidates walked in Saturdays Cinco de Mayo parade and then embarked on an effort to persuade, by Tuesdays election, as many voters as possible to go to the polls.
I think its going to be pretty tight, said political scientist Randall Adkins of the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
The election so far has brought lots of money and attention to the area.
