I do not pity this jerk at all. He has three strikes against him in my eyes:
1: He is a staunch conservative corportist, unqualified to be a SC Justice, let alone Chief Justice.
2: He worked in the Drunky McDouchebag Administration before getting his cushy SCOTUS position
3: He voted for Citizens United.
But his swtich on ACA proves simple to all conservatives: TOW THE LINE!!!
DO NOT THINK FOR YOURSELF!!! Just do what is expected of you, not what is right for the country.
Expect him to lose alot of conservative support. There are already calls for his impeachment.

(54,770 posts)I think we are stuck with him for awhile. When he does something decent, I'll give him props. I think, considering circumstances, he did the right thing with ACA case.

(44,576 posts)He was willing to strike down ACA as a mandate, but not as a tax. And he decided to upheld the rest of ACA. When the conservative judges realized that Roberts was not going to fall in lockstep with them, that's when leaks and smears began about him "changing his mind" began -- and it's a safe bet that the justices themselves were the main leakers.

(20,317 posts)If I understand the chain of events correctly, he actively worked to make the ruling possible, twisting one subject into another. I suspect he did something similar with the ACA ruling, and liberals will come to despise that ruling in time. His reasoning in judging it constitutional is going to set us up for trouble on other issues.
