The company you keep: NFL Owners Rained Cash on Trump Inaugural

Keep sending them money

FEC filings show football’s deepest pockets came up big, picking up nearly 7 percent of the party tab.

Eight National Football League franchise owners collectively gave millions of dollars to President Donald Trump’s inauguration, new disclosures show.

Among them: Robert Kraft, owner of the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots, who donated $1 million to Trump’s inaugural committee by way of Kraft Group LLC, according to a Federal Election Commission filing released Wednesday.

Those FEC documents revealed that Trump had dwarfed fundraising for any previous inauguration. With nearly $107 million in contributions, the committee almost doubled the previous record, set by Barack Obama in 2009.

According to the FEC filing, NFL owners’ $7.25 million in contributions represented nearly one of every $15 donated to Trump’s inaugural committee.

I usually root for the team by the colors I like. Weird, EH.

OK --I don't follow Hockey or Soccer or the NBA...

I hate the Cowboys - I mean not really, HATE,, who cares, it's football, eh,, but maybe because it's Texas..LOL

Same with Houston--also the uniforms.. I don't like.:&gt

I used to be a Washington fan.. back in the days of THE HOGS !!

Jacksonville and Bucs...humm.. I like their uniforms...

Jets" Ugly uniforms.

LA RAMS.. no opinion...

Guess I am safe to stick with the PACK !!!

We already knew he's an asshole. And of course Kraft's ties to Dump are well known. I wonder how he feels about Tom Brady (along with several others on the team) skipping the White House visit.

The guy is so image conscience it's a joke. I'm sure someone advised him it wasn't in his best interest. Of course, Kraft has no right to complain, considering he let Belicheat throw Brady under the bus on Deflategate thinking the league would never go after the Golden Boy.

And his mother randomly comes into town that day?

Uh huh. I know you guys believe everything that he says, but my God.....

This is the same stunt he pulled with Obama. Every week seems to be an anniversary. Then he was seen at the practice facility. All day.

are rich, scared and stupid to a fault. No surprise. Rich people are by and large greedy, mean to those outside their 'class' and always try to appear like they are concerned about those who struggle everyday to put bread on the table and keep the lights on.

There are a few notable liberal exceptions yet I still don't trust any 'rich' powerful RW people. They are all snakes. They would like us all to die and go away.

oh, I forgot one.

One franchise owner who reported donating a million, the New York Jets’ Woody Johnson, has already been more handsomely rewarded for his support. In January, Trump tapped Johnson to be the U.S. ambassador to Great Britain.

Dan Rooney just died last week (he was 84) and the funeral was attended by many Dems including Obama, Biden, Kerry and several others.

But sadly I know that the Kronke's ( Nuggets & Avs ) owners like Trump and any Repub. and that Elway actually wrote a letter urging congress to confirm Gorsuch. I just decided I won't actively give them money by attending games or buying merch.

I like to support individual athletes who play for 'my teams' and have the courage to speak out though. Like Denver Broncos defensive player Brandon Marshall. Or The Nuggets guard Gary Harris. Sometimes when an organization's top brass are knobs you get to see who some real quality humans are if they push back even in that environment.
