(32,640 posts)So Democrats should have more in common with their 'social' views, in order to get elected, transform their economy, install single payer, and they'll accept a liberal. He tried to portray Vermont as quite conservative, but being fine electing a "pro-choice," "pro-gay" senator like him because of his visionary economic ideas.
So, in essence, Democrats should "be flexible' on 'social issues" like women's health care equity, gun control and LGBTQ rights to get elected by conservative white working class bigots, and once Sander's ideas are implemented, coal country will be happy to elect Democrats who once again represent those 'fringe' social issues. Because everything will be great for women, gays, people of color and LGBTQs once we have single payer health care (NOTHING ELSE END OF DISCUSSION) and better paying jobs for the white working class.
Revolution. Ask for it by name.
He is consistent, I'll give him that:

(68,930 posts)I understand that in red states allowance must be made...but we will not advance anti-choice in the Democratic Party.
