Josie Delong, a resident of the county, says she used to drink tap water until a doctor told her it could be the cause of her health issues.
"I had really, really bad bleeding ulcers to the point where I was actually blacking out," she says. "So I go to my doctor. The first thing he tells me is, 'Contaminated water. How's your drinking water?' "
Now, she says she does all she can to avoid drinking from the tap. She even puts bottled water in her children's bathroom when they brush their teeth.

(58,828 posts)perhaps that'll be worth a few million dollars in your city's repair plan. I wouldn't expect to get much from Trump.

(3,054 posts)And all about stronger state and local? So by that thinking shouldn't they be wanting their state to fix their water?
only when its Dems in power. when they get in power they love to use the fed gov't. when Bush was in office there was massive increases in spending and the size of the fed gov't. Now in fairness to some conservatives I know, this is why they didnt care for Bush by the end of his 2nd term.

(82,849 posts)I'll lay you 10-1 odds on which one fills up first. The poor woman had bleeding ulcers that would cause her to black out, and finally went to the doctor. I wonder if she finally decided to go to a doctor because of the brief period when Kentucky took the Medicaid expansion?
The report doesn't follow through on Ms. Delong very far, but I wonder if she has connected the dots between her health problems, the toxic drinking water, and government spending priorties? If she has, will she be working to change the political climate in Kentucky? I hope she does. She certainly has more than enough cause to be motivated.

(7,641 posts)Some people are really slow. Trump wont do any of that. He is trying to kill the EPA and they recently rescinded the clean water act.
