Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on CNN that Russian Amb. Sergey Kislyak was doing his job when he met with Trump allies during the campaign
'The more an ambassador talks to people in his country of residence, the better job he does,' Peskov argued
Peskov pushed back on the assertion that Kislyak was lopsidedly meeting with just Trump associates, saying the ambassador met with Clinton allies too
The spokesman suggested that Kislyak met with 'people working in think tanks advising Hillary or advising people working for Hillary'
Additionally, he said Americans were 'self-humiliating' themselves, by suggesting Russia interfered in the U.S. election
Peskov replied that the answer was a 'very simple no' when asked about the election year hacks, which U.S. officials blame on Russia
