Former President Obama was reportedly furious after President Trump fired off tweets accusing him of wiretapping Trump Tower before the presidential election, according to a new report.

An aide to Obama told the Wall Street Journal the former president had decided he would not respond to every one of the his successor's tweets. But people familiar with Obama's thinking told the WSJ he was livid after Trump posted several tweets early Saturday morning making serious accusations.


“Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my ‘wires tapped’ in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!” Trump first tweeted on Saturday, without evidence.

An Obama spokesman later responded:

“A cardinal rule of the Obama administration was that no White House official ever interfered with any independent investigation led by the Department of Justice,” said Kevin Lewis. “As part of that practice, neither President Obama nor any White House official ever ordered surveillance on any U.S. citizen. Any suggestion otherwise is simply

all this anti-obama stuff this week is because Obama said he wanted to be deeply involved in the issue of gerrymandering. That would make the GOP go after him. And Trump who thinks he'll be running as far along as 2022. Maybe that is the real reason for Trump's lie about Obama this week. They need to delegitimize Obama. And his 60% approval rating.

The vast majority of us did all we could to keep Dump out of the WH. To some of us PBO is an icon of justice. If there was something more that I could do I would. I'm quite certain that PBO is smarter and has better connections than I. So it is perfectly logical that I hope he will do all he can to bring Dump to justice and maybe just save our country. Am I thankful for PBO? Hell yes, but I know that if I were him I would still be fighting.

Some are better at containing it or channeling it to a more productive emotional state. Obama's furious might not be chair throwing, cat kicking, scream at top of lungs, furious. But, if you knew him personally, you probably could tell when something worked him up. Nobody is immune to anger.
