Oath of Office Violated?
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States
How should we reconcile the verbal and written (tweeted) attacks on a free press with the First Amendment of the Constitution? I have trouble doing so and hope that those who have sworn an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic recognize this threat.

1. For Republicans, the "Oath of Office" is really more of a non-binding suggestion.

2. Then they breach the binds that tie us as a nation
And are the domestic enemies of the Constitution.

13. Then they should be called on it.
And at every opportunity. Come on people, make those calls, show your faces. At every opportunity let it be known that now is the time to stand forth against this very real threat to our Constitution.
what did you do in the resistance grandfather? I showed up. |

14. If you can loan me $60K, I can probably get Toomey to take my call
Since Republicans are now hiding from their town hall meetings and they consider our email/fax/tweet/facebook/phone bombardment to be an annoyance funded by Soros, rather than a noble, organic uprising like the Teabagger movement, they simply don't listen.
Tell me what I should do that will make the least bit of difference. |

16. Mobilize and Organize
If reach out efforts are stonewalled then talk to your neighbors, your friends. Build critical mass, stand up. Hand made yard signs, become the neighborhood crank, be visible in your truth.

3. Same way they ignore the "Pledge of Alliegience" they so proudly banter
I Pledge Allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. |

12. They only care about the "under God" part
And they only care about that part to the extent that they can oppress people with it.

5. It's a very selective version of the Constitution that
he supports. Much of it would be deleted if he had his say.

6. He has a YUUUGE loophole...
'to the best of my ability'
He clearly has NO ability, so he is technically in compliance, since what we are seeing is 'the best' of his ability. |

9. Cute but no cigar
Inability is no excuse and in fact would be even more grounds for a 25th Amendment solution.

15. Yes, grounds for 25th Amendment solution...
but not for violation of his oath.
He is performing to the best of his ability. Unfortunately for everyone is his distinct lack of ability. |

be any different?

10. Unlike the marriage vows
There are many more of us who swore our oaths to defend the Constitution. 45 may not understand the breadth and depth of the population of real patriots who stand in opposition to his unconstitutional and unamerican attacks on the free press.
