Or do you think this Fortune story was a complete shock to them?

(163,986 posts)The NYTs has shown itself to be really flexible on a lot of things -- like the fake reasons for iraq, the election fraud in Ohio, the warrantless wiretapping. They knew.

(7,773 posts)...that the "venerable" NYT is anything more than a mouthpiece for power as are the major networks, newspapers, and radio station networks.
"The Left" as represented by the media is only the slightly left of center pundit class who can pass ideological muster for the gatekeepers.
This is why you never see true left intellectuals like Noam Chomsky anywhere near a mass media communications network.
There is a business page, not a labor page.
There is the Wall Street Journal Report, CNBC, Bloomberg, Fox Business, Nightly Business Report but not one show that discusses working class issues exclusively.
Even so-called left shows like TRMS or Ed Schultz are still bound by their corporate paymasters to "support the troops", buy a new GM car or "Progressive" insurance.
Amy Goodman is relegated to channel 1,000,007 on the Cable Networks and an occasional appearance on UP with Chris Hayes.
Stations like KPFA and WBAI have to constantly beg for money to stay on the air while el Rushbo and "chalkboard Beck" get 10's of millions per contract. Catapulting the propaganda been berry berry good to them.
Meanwhile the working classes on this planet circle the toilet bowl while Jamie Dimon holds court before an adoring Senate, whistling past the penitentiary on the way to his house in the Hamptons.
The law is for the little people don't ya know.
So no, the NYT is just the latest in a long line of propaganda organs masquerading as a newspaper. At least the birds in the cage know what to do with it.
