If an attack like 9-11 would have happened on Obama's watch or any Democratic president the republicans would have used it to their advantage. They would have screamed and shouted that Obama didn't keep us safe, that he was weak, that countries don't fear him, how could he let this happen. They would have said that we needed to elect them so that they can protect us. And the media would have bought in to it and pushed that message.

But if a similar attack happened under Trumo or a republican they would push the patriotism memo. And that criticism of the president is bad, and that we need to stick together, and if you criticized then you are anti-American. And that we needed to keep them in office to keep us safe. And the media would buy into that.
