President Donald Trumps net approval rating dropped by eight points in his first week in the Oval Office, according to daily polls tracked by Gallup.
On Sunday Jan. 22, two days after being sworn in, 45 percent of respondents said they disapproved of Trumps job performance and 45 percent approved. By Friday Jan. 27, the percentage who disapproved rose to 50 and percentage who approved dipped to 42.
Trump has had a busy but rocky first week in office, signing off a series of executive orders laying out major policy changes like a temporary ban on refugees and on citizens from seven majority-Muslim nations. He had a friendly meeting with British Prime Minister Theresa May on Friday, but raised tensions with Mexican president Enrique Peña-Nieto over his insistence that Mexico will pay for a southern border wall that the country does not want.

(18,402 posts)Obama began his first week in office at 67 % approval (by the same Gallup measure). It took him until the week of July 6-13 to drop below 60 (58%).

That fact is about the only good news this week.
Everyone be sure to call and write your Congress critters tomorrow. And the next day, and...

At least Ronnie Ray Gun had decorum and a hint of integrity to his puppetry.
Two years of this!!! ??? Then two more of total gridlock when democrats retake the congress?
What happens when Fox noise cannot convince the most rabid of RW zombies that the Donald didn't bring their jobs back?
I believe before two years are up only the truly insane will still be totally behind Cheeto.
And bring us blue landslide elections for decades after.
