George Lakoff is a good liberal & a linguistics expert who understands fully what that shit Frank Luntz has pulled off with his 'healthy forests' & 'clean skies' bullshit. But do the dems ever hire Lakoff? No. They let the bullshit stand.

States rights really means lack of federal oversight.
Pro life really means pro birth, then you're on your own.
Right to work really means right to be fired for any damned reason.
Tea party really means right wing nut job. Okay, that one would offend, so we won't use it in public.
Patriot act really means don't question your government.
Freedom caucus really means freedom to say & do whatever they want.

I'm not even an expert & I came up with that. Someone clever could do better. "Moral Politics" should be required reading by democratic leadership, but I'll bet most of them haven't even heard of Lakoff. The dems are totally out of touch.

the definition of the word "conservative" in the dictionary, it clearly does not apply to them. I wish other Dems would follow suit and not use the "C"-word when referring to them.

7. Conservatives use simple words and phrases.

Democrat politicians and candidates use complicated words and phrases that cause them to get detached from voters, especially in purple and red states. Democrats need to learn to use simpler words and phrases and to relentlessly go after republican politicians and candidates. If a republican candidate call themselves a Christian, but has been found to have a lover outside of marriage, tie that weight around their necks and drown them. Attack any financial or business irregularity by a republican opponent. If they oppose abortion, but their wife or daughter has had an abortion, attack them on that, force them to admit that abortion decisions are a woman's right to make on her own.

A serial adulterer in Trump attacked Hillary Clinton for staying with a husband that cheated on her. The nature of why Hillary stayed with Bill and Hillary's deep religious faith meant nothing to Trump and his supporters, she had a stain on her not totally of her making and those thugs attacked her mercilessly for that.
