If something like sept 11 were to happen

Trump and his team would take advantage of it just like Bush did. But I think they would be even worse. They would use it to muzzle dissent and criticism. Patriot Act multipled by 100. The media and Dems would give in.

the 'CONs and the Press lying and making shit up about Hillary is how we got here. In hind sight I wish she'd gave up her desire to be the first woman president so we'd had a chance with a fresh face, such as Bernie, Brown or any number of our good Democratic Party members
tRump is destroying everything we have at a break neck speed and showing no sign of slowing down

RW talk radio has been a feature of the landscape since just after the Powell Memo in 1971. That's a long time for consistent propaganda to take root in minds that are ripe for it. After 40+ years of that preparation, Trump just came along and told them the same story. Game over.

Fuck you, Lewis Powell.

he will be bat shit crazy.

He is used to making sure the world revolves around him and him dictating all things.

(he's basically doing this with his presidential orders. personally, I don't think he knows how they actually work and just because he issues them, nothing says that what ever he decrees will actually happen)

but now he has to deal with people that don't give a shit about him and will do and say things that will piss him off every single day.

his bubble, that he has confined himself in forever, has just been broken and the results will not be pretty.

frankly, I think he will issue the most presidential orders of any president ever. He just wants to rule like a dictator and not actually have to deal with the "little people".

an entire week now. Someone called into Thom Hartmann yesterday and said that we should be hounding him
about losing by 14 million votes that's what it is when you count Stine and Johnson. He actually said 3 to 5 million
people voted illegally and not (one) voted for him. How could any sane person make that statement? How f---g nuts can you be?

This is my own speculation.

As we watch events in Washington unfold with breath-taking speed, the question begging to be asked is, "What next?" While it's impossible to predict in the current environment of rapid change and escalating confusion, one common theme has begun to float around the blogosphere. The theme is that of a false-flag pretext, a manufactured event that precipitates a national crisis permitting the adoption of draconian measures. Here is my speculation on the sort of event we should be prepared to see.

Those who see the American catastrophe as the ascension of Trump as an homegrown authoritarian dictator are drawn to the metaphor of the Reichstag fire of 1933. That fire, blamed on a young Dutch communist, was the pretext that cemented Hitler's grip on power.

Others (of which I am one) see the American catastrophe as a Duginist operation mounted to destroy the foundations of liberal, inclusive American democracy and eliminate its hegemony. In that case we could profitably look to the 1999 Russian apartment bombings and the 2004 Beslan massacre as models. Of course the situation in America is entirely different from that in Russia, so a false-flag pretext would look different from those events. It would be planned to take advantage of preexisting conditions here.

It is important to note that if this is the case, no liberal Western democracy is safe from interference, including and perhaps especially Canada.

Any speculation about such a pretext must begin with the possible goals. In the case of Duginism, the goals are clearly stated. They include the isolation of the USA within its geographic sphere of influence, creation of intense internal conflict, and the moral and ethnic cleansing of the USA.

Starting from that premise about the goals, we can imagine various pretexts that would promote them. I'm going to present a speculative event that would advance all of them simultaneously. And you can bet that if I can imagine something like this, Aleksandr Dugin is already several moves ahead.

My imaginary scenario can be stated quite concisely:

A coordinated, perhaps simultaneous, series of terrorist attacks take place in Washington DC. The attacks consists of three devastating bombings directed at a mix of upper-middle-class citizens and the government, and a major school hostage-taking similar to what happened in Beslan in 2004. The subsequent investigation reveals that the perpetrators are apparently Islamic jihadists who entered the United States from Canada.

If you think about the probable outcome, it's clear that such an event would accomplish all the stated goals, regardless of whether we face a homegrown Hitler or Duginist disruption:

* It would precipitate a ferocious pogrom on American Muslims, with enthusiastic participation by both official forces and private citizens. Anyone who does not look like a white European could become a target in the resulting internal warfare.

* It would permit the adoption of unlimited, unquestioned authoritarian powers by the President, similar to what happened in 1933.

* It would probably cause America to close its borders entirely, especially in the inbound direction.

* And finally, it would cast an enormous cloud of suspicion and animosity over Canada, and probably force our government to adopt more repressive policies. Anti-Muslim sentiments in Canada would grow like weeds in a vacant lot.

As a final thought, the optimal timing for such an event would be right after Congress starts talking seriously about impeachment.

Please keep your eyes, ears and mind open. Think carefully about what you see happening. We'll see where events take us.
Good luck everyone.

Republicans would use that as to why he shouldn't be in office, because he didn't keep us safe. And the media and public would buy that. But if an attack happens now, they would use it for why they should remain office, to keep us safe. And the media and public would buy that.
