And the further they make it into the season, the deader town gets during a game. It's delightful grocery shopping during really anticipated football games. A benefit to not being a football fan

Folks around here should have been out and about, shopping or on the way home from church.

Thanks for going to the march.

We won't be buying new if we can repair it.

Small, local businesses? Yup. Big boxes? Not if I can help it.

Right now, the only thing I anticipate needing to buy except for food, paper products and consumables are tights and men's underwear. Everything else? I've got a tool and the raw materials.

I knew my fabric stash was in service of the future.

Stayed out of malls altogether to avoid the shopping madness between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Then we had major car troubles requiring us to junk the pickup truck and replace it with a small used hatchback.

Since I'm retired I can avoid driving in bad weather because I don't want to risk someone hitting me.

After the fog lifted a bit today I just wanted a bit of fresh air.

The store I stopped in seemed like it was running a skeleton crew. Long lines at the 4 check-outs that were open. About 20 registers were closed.

All in all, a very depressing trip.
