1. Thank god the mayor had some sense after seeing the video, and the judge dismissed the case.

DU'ers should take time to check the video at the link. Disgusting people.

Thank you, still one, for the info.

Best wishes to a man who should NEVER have been stopped.

3. Ugh! Why did the cops act like the 9-1-1 caller was infallible?

I once called 9-1-1 about extremely loud neighbors down the street who were arguing about something. It continued for a long time and I was worried it could escalate to violence, not to mention how their loud yelling was disturbing the peace.

The dispatcher kept trying to put words in my mouth! She kept saying, "So there's domestic violence in progress at..." I repeated more than once that I had NO evidence of domestic violence! Just a very loud argument!

The argument eventually stopped and the cops never showed up either (thank goodness).

Cop: Please step out of the car, we have a report that you stole this car.

Car owner: Officer, I own this car.

Cop: Please let me see your license and registration.

Cop goes back to his car, checks to on his computer if the car is registered in his name, has no warrants, unpaid tickets etc and finds out that he owns the car.

Cop: Sorry for the misunderstanding sir, have a nice day.

But, the victim was black so he was automatically guilty and deserved to be beaten. Why can't cops just do their fucking jobs?!

That exchange would require a bit of respect which obviously many police don't have when it comes to people of color.

"stop resisting" while beating the snot out of some one. For some reason, it has become a license to beat people to death.

It would give me great pleasure to sue the pants off of some of these cops.

i drive rust bucket clunkers...the classic beater with a heater....
i live in a wealthy county which somehow does not manage to trickle down towards me

being an older white local resident i have fewer concerns after being pulled over cause i turn out to be more of a curiosity than the threat.....they run my plates and give me a warning to have the tail light replaced...odd thing is...it always seems to work fine when i test it and take it in to show i complied with the ticket...

that being said...there is a road that i now avoid late at night cause it increased the odds of being pulled over...just real damn happy i am not black.
