(254 posts)I don't know if it's the "watching a train wreck" thing, or if I just have to see how bad The Douchebag mangles it, but I just gotta.
Hell, I'm so low-tech no one will know I am watching anyway...

I didn't like how he came to power, and I don't like a lot of other things about him, but at least he has a genuine skillset for governing something and trying to achieve consensus.

(14,179 posts)I for one swore that I would never watch that show again. It used to be interesting, obviously before I knew much about Trump. And when he didn't have any affect on my life in general. He slowly became more boorish and biased towards the prettiest and the brown nosers and only had on celebrities. Even then it was amusing to watch because he was just an arrogant clown. It started as a show that helped young entrepreneurs but became a show all about Donald Trump.
When this new version with Arnold was announced I vowed that I would never watch it. I figured Trump would still have some stake in the show and I didn't want to support him in any way. And if Arnold agreed to it, then he is complicit with Trump. Its too bad because Arnold would make a much better host. If anyone has seen the British version with Lord Alan Sugar, you know that the format, if they actually use non-celebrities, real young people that are talented at business, makes for an interesting show, for the most part.
But I gather that there are many like myself that are turned off by the slogan "The Apprentice" as it is forever tied to Trump.

(931 posts)never publicly distanced himself from him, as far as I know. Lots of legitimate reasons to criticize Arnold.
Still, there are major differences between the two. Arnold is capable of self-deprecating humor, for example. I seriously doubt that Trump is capable of that.

(54,094 posts)Tell me the guy who's supposed to run the country starting in two weeks isn't sitting around taking jabs at TV shows for weak ratings that are... and this must be emphasized... none of his damned concern. Doesn't he have a book or a Constitution he could be reading up on right about now?
