Source: The Hill
President-elect Donald Trump appeared willing on Friday to concede that taxpayers may foot the initial bill for his proposed wall along the southern border, though he insisted Mexico would cover its cost in the end.
Reports emerged Thursday that Trump was working with House Republicans on a plan to fund the wall project through appropriations.
The president-elect has repeatedly pledged that Mexico would pay for the wall designed to keep its citizens from entering the U.S. illegally, but he tweeted early Friday morning that "for the sake of speed," other funds might be used first.
The dishonest media does not report that any money spent on building the Great Wall (for sake of speed), will be paid back by Mexico later!

Trump has promised since the early days of his presidential campaign that Mexico would cover the final costs of the wall. He has proposed sharp tariffs on money that native Mexicans send back to their families as one way of making up the wall's price, which is expected to run in the billions of dollars.

(45,806 posts)Even then I'd only be 35% convinced. Since Enrique Nieto already flatly refused to pay for the Con's silly wall, we won't see any commitment letter or any MONEY!
How damn dumb are the fools who will still believe conman?

(10,137 posts)I have to admit, I thought this guy would wait at least until he was sworn in before breaking all of his campaign bs promises. I guess they feel it's better to just rip the bandaid off.

Trump has already interfered with existing contracts to build new factories in Mexico and likely to continue to interfere.
Mexican immigrants will either leave this country after harassment or be deported by Trump. Can't garnish money that doesn't exist.

(58,758 posts)and it's right up Trump's alley. Let's buy, say, 1000 miles of China's wall. It's already Great. Trump's a businessman, I'm sure he can swing a deal. Just buy it, wrap it up, and ship it over here. We did it with the London Bridge, this is just a little larger engineering task. It'll be bigly Great!
