Instant corruption with Trump

When or if Trump is sworn in as president in less than two months, he will immediately start profiting from his businesses around the world that have his name on them. Taking foreign money as president is a violation of the Constitution. How is this not a problem for Republicans? The only thing I can figure is that the GOP is using this as a built-in escape mechanism if they can't control Trump and they can use it as leverage to get him to do what they want. This is the most incredibly corrupt system I can imagine and it's just too crazy coming from a guy who said he wanted to "drain the swamp".

In addition, we are seeing see dark harbingers of Pre-WW II times where Nazi Germany and the rise of Hitler & Mussolini led to catastrophic times, only this time it is the U.S. carrying that banner. The appointments of major extreme right-wing deplorables is shocking. We are in for very tough times here. And to think it was trump who claimed things were rigged.. again more projection because his actions post-Election Day shows he is willing to tear the country apart.

this reminds me of 2000, but on steroids and shrooms. And the Bush administration was hell and filled with disaster, but people voted for this shit again? So fucked.

You described the situation accurately. These are very dangerous times and are a definite threat to the country. The collusion between the extreme, nationalistic christofascist elements of conservatism plus the added external influences of Putin's government is beyond comprehension. How did we go this far off into the deep end?
