At what point will the media "turn" on Trump?

The same media that inexplicably forgave him of all his sins through the primaries and through the general. The same media that ran with every innuendo and false accusation against HRC. The same media that expressed disbelief that (gag) "President Trump" was even a thing.

The fears we expressed here, not even partisan fears, but fears predicated on the corruption, the inexperience, the petulance of the man-child Donald Trump, are manifesting themselves already, as he transitions from game show campaign to reality show presidency. We tried to warn others, but the media, the GD media, lent a deaf ear.

They are now accessories to a crime.

When will they alter their rhetoric and call Trump out for what he truly is: a menace to the USA, a wannabe dictator who places the delicate balance of world peace in jeopardy by his very presence.

Soon? Please?

If a campaign based on lies and make believe was entertaining, imagine what it's going to be like once Trump's policies kick in and we're rounding up Muslims and heading off to a new war in the Middle East.

The only question the media will be asking is "are we being supportive enough of Trump's 'bold' new plans?"

So has Mother Jones and New Yorker. Heck, even the Wall Street Journal is doing some good work. The mainstream press has been right on top of Trump's craziness. The problem is, Red State voters don't trust any of these outlets, and go for the fake news instead.

I tweeted that everyone should subscribe to the Times, and got attacked for my "poor judgment in trusting that liberal rag."

It happened to be from CNN. I said he might be interested in the information.

I got an email back saying, 'I don't trust the Clinton News Network.'
He didn't even read a neutral article that is totally relevant to the weird stuff he sends out.
How do you fight deliberate ignorance like that?

By the way, I then told that if he sent me any more political stuff that I would have to sever our friendship of many years.
He acknowledged my request and that's where it lies.
We'll see if he can hold himself back.

Who could figure 61+million voters could be that brainwashed, the PTB did. The MSM did, especially Joe Scarborough, Fox News, pre threat megyn kelley. Please, complicity will be their middle name in all that happens in the next 2 to 4 years.

I also will NEVER forgive the rather large numbers of latinos, AA, Asians and muslims that voted for this POS because they were too believing of MSM and lacked critical thinking, deductive reasoning skill. 61+ million dumbed down ameriKKKans and their minority surrogates. Fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The news media created drumpf for ratings, why would they turn on him now?

Just think of the ratings following Il Douche's Deportation force around as they kick down doors and snatch screaming children away from their parents in the dead of night and send them to concentration camps.

Or the all time high ratings when Herr Drumpf wages nuclear war on Iran, for starters.

Mushroom clouds = BIG ratings!

We have to extract the profit motive from the press. The tax code needs to be changed to permit media outlets to run as non-profits. We need to be able to distinguish news/facts from spin/opinion.

Otherwise, we might as well flush the first amendment down the potty.

Jeff Zucker’s singular role in promoting Donald Trump’s rise
By Margaret Sullivan Media Columnist October 2

Looking for someone specific to hold responsible for the improbable rise of Donald Trump?

Although there are many options, you could do worse than to take a hard look at Jeff Zucker, president of CNN Worldwide.

They never ever never should of hired Lewandowski. First time I saw him on the air I gave my TV a side eye. Total conflict.
I also understand that this is TV and it's driven by ratings and ad revenue and it's no secret that Trashpot is "good" TV. There are PLENTY of times that I disagree with an anchor, or I yell why didn't you ask this...or why did you let that go??

So who at CNN do you think (besides Zucker) outright campaigned for Trashpot and was "for" him?

21. NYTimes: 2 Billion Worth of Free Media for Donald Trump
Fri Nov 18, 2016, 03:56 PM
Nov 2016

Of all the ways Donald Trump has shocked the political system, one of the most significant is how he wins primary after primary with one of the smallest campaign budgets.

He still doesn’t have a super PAC. He skimped on ground organization and field offices. Most important, he spent less on television advertising — typically the single biggest expenditure for a campaign — than any other major candidate, according to an analysis by SMG Delta, a firm that tracks television advertising.

But Mr. Trump is hardly absent from the airwaves. Like all candidates, he benefits from what is known as earned media: news and commentary about his campaign on television, in newspapers and magazines, and on social media. Earned media typically dwarfs paid media in a campaign. The big difference between Mr. Trump and other candidates is that he is far better than any other candidate — maybe than any candidate ever — at earning media.

No one knows this better than mediaQuant, a firm that tracks media coverage of each candidate and computes a dollar value based on advertising rates. The mentions are weighted by the reach of the media source, meaning how many people were likely to see it. The calculation also includes traditional media of all types, print, broadcast or otherwise, as well as online-only sources like Facebook, Twitter or Reddit.

Trump may seem like a petty narcissist attacking the nyt & media but he's deliberately trying to put any opposition or neutral media out of business. And dismissing any reporting they do. Don't read it, don't buy it.
But at some point, it will be profitable to bash trump. When they do though it will be more like click bait trivia and not real news.
I think we need to put our $ where the truth is and subscribe to news that is giving trump an honest critical examination and reporting it.

They are turning this country into a bigger and bigger cesspool everyday and as long as they profit - as long as that orange turd gets more publicity - this will never stop. Not until it starts eating them alive and I hope it does. Sooner or later they will start turning on each other. It may take a while, but one day it will all cave in on them. I just hope to be around to see it.
