My wish is that the polls turn out to be wrong and Trump and the GOP are crushed down the ballot at the federal level and state level down to dog catcher. God knows they deserve to get their asses reamed thoroughly. The GOP has put the the country through hell since Reagan. And they have done tremendous damage to just about everything.
I just hate GOPPERS more and more because they are incorrigible. Their is no saving them. Only the deranged and sadistic could support someone so completely terrible as Trump. He has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. And for that matter neither do people who vote for him.

(1,858 posts)And recent events have not gone over well with them. Especially when it comes to likely voters. Some women who planned to stay home may have changed their minds.
Some may be publicly saying trump due to their personal circumstances until they get into the private voting booth

(6,133 posts)Though I think Hillary will win...common sense, I am afraid it might be close...the brainwashing of America to the point that the Clintons dine with Lucifer, and Trump tells it like it is.

(783 posts)if you listen to people who put their money on backing their opinions, gamblers are betting 90% that HRC will win.
On the other hand, don't get complacent. Sign up with your local election people to go out on some Get-Out-The-Vote work. If you're in a red state, you can still make phone calls to people in swing states. You can work to make it happen. IFF we work our best and things continue as they are going, we can win back both houses of congress, and give HRC and the gang a chance to get some REAL work done.
Be optimistic but not complacent. Cheer up and go to work on getting out the vote.

(783 posts)and know that 538 predicts Democrats will take back the Senate.
You're on a calm soft tropical beach, listening to the waves lap the shore rhythmically as you slowly exhale with each wave as it recedes from shore, relaxing each joint and muscle, feeling more and more the peace and serenity of the moment, as you release all the rage and anger, letting it wash out to sea slowly with each wave that recedes from shore, leaving you tranquil, hopeful, loving all creatures even with their terrifying awfulness, knowing it can't hurt you as you start to feel sorry for the poor helpless monsters that thrash in the waves as they find themselves pulled further out to sea in a shipwreck of their own making, receding farther and farther from shore. You feel at peace. You mourn for the souls of the misguided wretches who could not be saved from their own darkness. You picture the Democrats taking back the Senate as predicted by 538. Relaxed and at peace, smiling, you get up off your bum and go to work on getting out the vote!

(783 posts)Anyone living in North America is at risk of being low on vitamin D because we don't get a lot of sun, and unless you go to the beach every day you probably don't get the benefit of what little sun there is.
Paler skin is an adaptation to allow more of the sunlight to "sink in" and be utiliized -- that's the only reason there are "white people", it's the entire difference and the whole purpose of that small quirk that has brought so much grief to society. The darker your skin is, the more you need to compensate for the lack of sunlight by taking vitamin D3 supplements, which are cheap and easy to find.
Vitamin D is required for the proper absorption and use of calcium. Calcium has many functions, bones and teeth and nerves. Because it is used by the nervous system, there are psychological consequences to vitamin D deficiency, mostly that lack of D facilitates bad moods and depression. Notice how people who go to the beach a lot are usually very mellowed out? That isn't drugs, it's vitamin D from sunlight doing its job. Happily for all of us living in relatively northern climates, we can take vitamin D tablets. Never mind guns -- vitamin D is the great equalizer. Try it, you'll like it.
Don't believe me? Get a doctor to do a blood test for vitamin D levels (they only do it if you request it). Or just ASK your doctor, if he's any good. They know from published studies that almost all of us are low on vitamin D.
I'm not saying the Republicans are not cause for concern; they are; but arm yourself for the struggle by safeguarding your health and well-being. Just take the vitamin D, you'll be happier for it -- Literally.
