The Velveteen Ocelot
(115,683 posts)He doesn't connect with anybody. There's no evidence he has actual friends, or even a pet, or that he ever ever did. His wives have always been little more than arm candy, and his children seem to be equally sad examples of kids who think the only way to get Daddy to love them is to be just like him - but even that doesn't work. He doesn't seem to enjoy life. He plays golf for the cameras, but has he ever gone to a play or a concert just to enjoy the experience? Has he ever just relaxed on a beach? Does he ever read a good book for the pleasure of it?
This is a guy who can't enjoy anything unless it involves some kind of self-aggrandizement acquired by debasing someone else. He won't ever change, and when he dies he'll still be bitter and angry and nobody will miss him.

(40,209 posts)I agree that his children don't seem to have their own lives.
They live and work in his world. It is strange.
