Pence can not be given the nomination.
It is literally impossible now. He has no legal way to get on the ballot in many states (including the key swing states of Ohio and Florida) and no state has a provision for a "a vote for trump is a vote for Pence". Even a massive write-in campaign would not work as some states don't allow write-ins.
In short, at this point in the election, there is no path forward in which an alternative republican candidate could muster 270 EV. None.

(11,843 posts)The best they could hoe for is to extract a pledge to resign if elected, and have enough idiots vote for Trump, hoping he would honor any sort of pledge.
