Toddler accidentally shoots himself, taken to hospital

Thankfully he is alive, but this is ridiculous. This is negligence, not an accident.

PHOENIX (KPHO/KTVK) -
Police said a 2-year-old boy was playing with a gun and accidentally shot himself in west Phoenix on Wednesday night.

Emergency crews were called out a house near 39th and Peoria avenues just after 7 p.m.

They found the boy with a gunshot wound in the upper part of his leg near the groin, firefighters said.

He was reportedly alert and conscious and taken to Phoenix Children's Hospital. Firefighters described him as looking pale.

Police said they are questioning the three adults who were home at the time of the accidental shooting.

guns, but the guy I married did and loved to hunt & fish. I adapted, learned to shoot and even went hunting with him a few times. I remember during one deer season when my oldest son was 6 months old, dis Dad posed him with the deer for a pic. As he grew older & I had a second son, they were raised to always respect guns for what they were, and that means NOT TOYS! They were both taught at a very young age that you NEVER touched any weapon without mom or dad being there. Dad showed them what damagr a gun csn do by shooting at a sapling tree. They grew up hunting with their dad and having a lot of fun. Today they are 50 & 48 and have children of their own. NEVER has there ever been any problem with gun misuse.

What in the hell is wrong with this baby's parents?

I wonder how gun advocates will spin this one into "the answer is always more guns".
