1. Kellyanne Conway is in over her head and has no idea what she is doing.
2. Rachel Maddow needs to spend more time hanging out with Joy Reid, she might learn something.

You're right. Rachel needs to take lessons from Joy Reid and learn to interview.

(26,268 posts)And I wonder if Rachel's laughing was a disguised "WTF did she just say???"
I noticed that, at first, there was a whole lot of talking over each other, because it was like Rachel HAD to stop the spurting words, somehow, to kinda-sorta challenge something that was said. Maybe it just got too exhausting.

She is fantastic! We want more of Joy! she is the kind of person I would want for a friend. A good friend.
MSNBC had better play their cards right with Joy.

The other day it was Chris=Matthews, now Rachel. She is helping the Trump campaign for goodness sake.

(157 posts)This woman lies so well and speaks her talking points so well and Rachel bent over backwards to be nice to her. I love Rachel. But she so wants Republicans to come on her show that she is overly nice. Yes and I also agree about Joy Reid. I love that woman. She never backs down and never let's these Republicans shitheads get away with their nonsense.

(42,770 posts)coverage. She reminds me of a cool dog who just pants for attention at you. She does that with Brian Williams. If they were smart (MSNBC) Chris would run the election coverage. It is a mortal sin how they subjugate him - with all his insight and knowledge of history.

(42,770 posts)week in week out I find him knowledgeable and very entertaining. When did he say the leg thing? At some point, are people going to forget about that? Love how he throws in historical slant too. If he was gone, there'd be a huge hole, IMHO. At least for me - I can't wait til he comes on each night. But, get it, not everyone's cup of tea.

(9,033 posts)It's decades of BS, of asking questions and never waiting for the answer, of denying reality http://crooksandliars.com/2016/08/chris-matthews-wonders-if-its-fair-tie , of gushing over W in his flight-suit-complete-with codpiece http://www.mediaite.com/tv/chris-matthews-was-against-the-iraq-war-while-he-was-tingling-over-it/ . Want some more quotes on W? Try these:
Were proud of our president. Americans love having a guy as president, a guy who has a little swagger, whos physical. 5/1/03
Sometimes it glimmers with this man, our president, that kind of sunny nobility. 10/25/05
I like him. Everybody sort of likes the president, except for the real whack-jobs, maybe on the left. 11/28/05
A little bit of Lincoln there, I think, referring to Bush finally admitting that telling Iraqi insurgents to bring it on in 2003 sent the wrong signal to people. 5/25/06
Given the presidents track record with the truth on Iraq, Matthews should check his uncritical awe at the door.

A fellow DUer posted a recap not too long ago: http://www.democraticunderground.com/1018832582#post4
Chris Matthews is beyond a joke and he's no friend to either the truth or liberals (either one would suffice for me).

(7,814 posts)She was aware that there are plenty of people who wanted to see a fight between host and KAC...and explained that doing a show where discussion happens without vitriol was more important.
I was a bit disappointed in the interview too (pinning the loss on KAC and having her exit the media stage is now for me one of the main reasons for defeating Trump, IMO she's smug and insufferable beyond belief) but think there's value in RM's approach. I accept it wrt this one interview. For sure, she could have made more twitter impact and youtube impact if they had argued the whole time. I don't think we need more of that. The BS, low tactics of the RW, and media abandonment of their job is 40 years old...won't be overturned with one interview.
Rachel makes cases with lengthy preamble. Hopefully this is an example of the same.

(42,770 posts)you possibly toe the line between what he has said and what you want him to be now ? #2. Rachel fell immediately when Kelly Ann said something luring her about a possible Trump interview. It was all down hill from there. She was obviously trying to keep the liberal ball rolling - but was SO afraid KA would never come back
Rachel has so few big shots, she can't offend any she gets
