Mitt Romney Just Made a Fool of Himself

Mitt Romney Just Made a Fool of Himself

by joelgp

I gave Romney a fair listen today and I gotta tell you, it was a grave mistake for him to play the dueling speeches game. First, Romney's optics were horrible!! He looked like he was in some dude's barn with about 60 of his neighbors chewing and spitting snuff.

Also, he came off the cuff with a rambling speech and these are the highlights:

1. Drill, drill, drill
2. Get rid of Obamacare but keep Romneycare in Massachusetts.
3. Limit the size of government.
4. Crack down on um China...um, somehow.
5. Obama is bad, America is great.
6. A woman went out of business because Obama said something about Vegas.
7. And um, Rubio said something positive about something.
8. A dude opened a new factory and he's rich now.
9. And he went to San Diego on Memorial Day and met some great Americans.
10. But couldn't hold the torch as high.
11. He knows how to lead cause he's um, been in the private sector

And, then, in walks Obama to thousands of screaming fans and every single word Romney said was dashed against the stone.

Mitt made a fool of himself today.

Why would he say that unless he didn't think approval would be hard to get?

that it can be done almost as safely as drilling for oil in the waters of the Gulf.....oh wait!

How many of the greedy people who stand to make a profit from the installation or operation of the Keystone pipeline really give a rat's ass about safety or environment? Have any of them ever taken 'safety' to the bank?

Even if by some magic dream the pipeline could be built and operated safely within this country, is it worth the contribution to, as well as the tacit approval of the destruction of the atmosphere of our tiny planet which now emanates from it's source in Canada? I'm sure that Jamie Dimon thinks so.

I think the Keystone pipeline will be of great use in order to allow the poor oil companies to able to survive in these difficult times, as they take the Keystone oil all the way to our Gulf Coast where it will pollute our environment as it is refined; and then loaded onto giant oil tankers for export to foreign countries. Of course no one seems to think that it matters that the "sands oil" is the "dirtiest" form of crude that there is, as they pump ton after ton of it's refinement pollution into our USA skies.

Oh!, and let's not forget about the measly 2000 or so minimum wage jobs that building the Keystone pipeline in the USA will create for the six months or so it will take until it's completion. Hey, America can take that to the bank, for sure, along with the reduced cost of domestic fuel that it won't create.

I don't think that Obama is "for" the Keystone pipeline, but rather that he is just trying to keep it in the background until after the election when he will be able to devote more time to educating the American people about why it will be bad for our country, as well as for the entire planet.

It is truly a shame that he even needs to do that. Hell, I should do my part and take out an ad that will play for the next 9 months, every 7 minutes, on the Rachel Maddow Show's Internet broadcast, in order to let folks know.

Edit for syntax.

Saw online where Ann Romney posted her recipe for meatloaf. Someone responded that they loved it, and called it "Mittloaf." Another person said they imagined Ann didn't make it herself, likely had her cook do it while Ann was out driving one of her Cadillacs.

There are some out there who have figured out what the Romney's really are, and they aren't average Americans, and will never understand the problems of average Americans. I have to believe most know that's not what this country needs right now.

Last night I even caught Hannity Insanity pouting on his program about how bad Romney is on the campaign trail.

Sister Sarah should have trademarked her "Drill, baby, drill" mantra because you just know that during the debates with President Obama Romney is going to say it.
