(83,787 posts)I want to thank you for saying it was a good gesture. That is what it was meant to be. Unity.
I am sad to see so much snark about it.
We cleaned ours out in a few hours, yes we had more than the BS Group, yet we have been around far longer. We worked hard to do this. A clean sweep.
It pains me to see the BS hosts have not been able to follow our lead. They have left 50 behind and I have no clue why. After reading a post in the BS Group, people are very confused why some were unblocked and others left blocked.
On my first post about Unity, Nurse Jackie posted this,
Offering a hand in friendship rather than a fist of anger. It sets a good example by leading the way.

(6,592 posts)I was actually blocked by my own request, to avoid getting myself in trouble.
Don't think I would get in trouble at this stage of the game. I'm starting to kinda like her, in addition to being terrified of Trump.
Still proudly blocked from the Bernie group! ;->
SusanCalvin
(6,592 posts)Thanks but no thanks. Sorry to be ungracious (no, I'm really not), but I was blocked for truthful posts that weren't even in that group.
In the Hillary group, I was blocked for an accidental post in that group, unblocked when intentions were straightened out, and reblocked upon my own request, to keep me out of trouble.
Sorry, apples and oranges.
This applies to the DU group, not Bernie himself, of course.

RazBerryBeret
(3,075 posts)there's an Al Gore, a John Kerry or a Martin O'Malley page. I guess.

(54,403 posts)Maybe there was some general amnesty, and group hosts either changed, or were told to start afresh? It obviously wasn't done because someone woke up one morning and thought I deserved "a second chance." This appears to have been some kind of across-the-board action.
As with you, I never even knew there was a separate Sanders (or Hillary, for that matter) group until some angry (they always are, aren't they?) crusader banned me for responding to some post on the home page. If I didn't go there intentionally before I knew it existed, I certainly won't be going now.
Still, can anyone shed some light as to the mechanics of how this went down? Just curious.

(83,787 posts)I don't want to post there, yet it is the right thing for them to do. The Hill hosts, 3 of us were able to unblock about 800 peeps in a few hours. We weren't selective, one of us started at the top of the list, one at the bottom and one in the middle until we were done. It was a 4 step process to unblock, not quick but doable.
The Hill Group did this first, they followed our lead, yet for some reason are drawing it out. Our decision was this would help Unify our board. Sad to see that list of names left.
Glad you are out!

(135,425 posts)The accusations that HRC's group had 'more blocks' were, I felt, really unfair. The HRC group has been around for much longer.
HRC has been in the public eye for the last eight years and then some--and plenty of people liked to take potshots at her during her first run and in the intervening years. BS only ran for POTUS once and his group isn't even a year old.
Stay in business long enough and you're bound to attract some troublemakers!

I was blocked sort of by accident -- on my part. No glory in that. I was new here and answering from the LBN forum, not noticing where the posts originated. Certainly I had no intention of interrupting a partisan forum's kumbaya moments. In any case, after my third benign, OTOH-type post, similar to yours, I was surprised by an "Okay, you're out of here!"

It's kinda funny actually. It has all the markings of being an intentional snub. It's a passive-aggressive way of trying to say "I hate you guys the most" or "you guys are the worst of the worst".
Ultimately, what it's really saying is "my feelings are still hurt and I can't return the olive branch in-kind" or "revenge is more important to me than reconciliation".

In fact here is what an admin said in that group:
"BERNIE SANDERS GROUP - STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
This discussion thread is pinned.
The 2016 campaign of Bernie Sanders was an amazing experience for us all.
The mission of the Bernie Sanders Group is to discuss information and news about the life, career, accomplishments, and highlights of his 2016 Presidential campaign. The Bernie Sanders Group will provide a haven for those members of Democratic Underground who support Senator Sanders and his policies; to discuss his policy positions, speeches, interviews, and other public appearances and to discuss the causes which Senator Sanders has championed.
The Bernie Sanders Group is not a forum. This group serves as safe haven for members who share similar interests and viewpoints. Individuals who post messages contrary to this group's stated purpose can be excluded from posting, these decisions will be made by the current group hosts. All OPs about the 2016 Presidential campaign and the candidates belong in GD or GD 2016. Any and all posts about supporters of other groups will be immediately locked as will any discussion of other groups. "

total acceptance of her her which is actually a bit dangerous. She's not perfect. She has flaws. But we are not really allowed to acknowledge them here. Which is a shame, because any rational discussion is short circuited.
Keep in mind that her negatives are still a bit north of 50%. What will rescue her in the end is that Donald's negatives are some ten points higher.
Which means that all of those voting are going to be voting mostly for the person they think is truly the lesser of two evils. Not very many will be voting enthusiastically, for the candidate they truly think is wonderful, the best possible choice. Nope. They'll be voting for the person who at least isn't that other one, the worse one.
Me? I am looking forward to someday voting positively, for a candidate I whole heartedly support, who I think is the best possible choice for President of the United States. I can only hope I live long enough.

(23,156 posts)I certainly hope not.
As I've already said, it's no longer possible to post genuine concerns about Hillary Clinton here, but none of the criticisms of her during the primaries have magically disappeared or been mitigated.
Luckily for her, the Donald's negatives are even higher than hers, although there's a genuine danger that her voters will stay home, thinking the election is in the bag (somewhat like the Thomas Dewey voters in 1948), although I do hope that doesn't happen.

(16,020 posts)and it is something that needs to be addressed so we can win. Creating a bubble without the facts is dangerous.
